Highway 17 has been reopened.

Highway 17 from Schreiber to Nipigon has been reopened according to OPP; but ON511 says closed.

Whatever the situation really is, Terrace Bay Fire/Emergency Services is warning that road conditions are treacherous.

“We are receiving mixed messages from 511 and OPP about the highway reopening. 511 reports it closed and OPP reports it reopened. In any regard, the highways and weather are treacherous out there so if you do not have to be out on the roads PLEASE DO NOT. Stay home and stay safe. We will update you when we receive confirmation.”
