Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Lady Dunn Health Centre on Friday, August 17, 2018 at the age of 87 years. Proud and loving father of Pauline Baughan, Marlene, Gary and Louise Lamon (Derek). Amazing and loving Poppa of Monique “Nickee” (Jon), Dieter (Sarah), Cody Lee (Isabelle), Derek (Kayla), Tanya (Myles) and Zayn. Proud great Poppa of Easton, Addyson, Tripp, Breea and Arya. Son of the late Omer and Lydia Rancourt. Dear brother of late Patrick Rancourt (Sylvia), late Annette Vaillancourt (Gilbert), Claire Porlier (late Leo), Doreen Wright (Doug), Yollande Pilon (Marcel), Denis (Carol), Huguette Niblett (late Mac) and Father Leo Rancourt. Maurice will be fondly remembered by the mother of his children Ella and also by his many nieces and nephews.
Maurice moved to Wawa in 1962 and worked at the Brewer’s Retail until his retirement all while volunteering his time to the community. Maurice’s house always had an open door for all of his kids and their friends. Huge family breakfast’s and suppers are fondly remembered. Being all together was the most important thing to him.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the Drs. Kirby and Cotterill and the entire staff of the hospital and the family health clinic team.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Monica’s Church on Friday August 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of his Life at the Royal Canadian Legion. Memorial donations made to the Lady Dunn Health Centre Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Very fond memories of Maurice. Spent my last summer in Wawa working for him at Brewers Retail and he was always a very fair and nice guy. Also spent a few weekends playing in the band in the Rancourt basement. RIP
