Marine – Wind southeast 15 knots diminishing to southeast 10 near noon then becoming light near midnight. Wind becoming southwest 10 Tuesday evening. Waves one metre subsiding to one half metre or less this afternoon.

News Tidbits – Business is almost back to normal after a vehicle struck ValuMart Saturday morning. The produce shelves were damaged in the collision as well as the exterior wall. As a result some produce cannot be displayed, but staff will bring it when asked.

Some residents of  River Valley Park Trailer Park have left, and others are digging in their heels. On August 31, River Valley Park Trailer Park which is about 5 kilometres north of Sault Ste. Marie will be officially closed.

In circumstances that resemble Wawa Park City which was closed down because the water supply treatment didn’t comply with Ontario health standards – River Valley Park will be closed because the sewage system is in disrepair. This creates a health hazard for residents and a pollution threat for the nearby Root River. Residents of Wawa Park City were successful in negotiating a settlement for their trailers, and the park was closed.
