35th Annual Wawa Salmon Derby is This Weekend!

It’s raining! Well, it’s the Salmon Derby Weekend and the are forecasting rainy weather until tomorrow morning. Then it should be a mix of sun and cloud for Saturday, and Sunday – looking pretty good.

If you have a boat and a buddy – get your entry in. The largest Salmon could bring you not only a lot of fish, but $6,000 in cash! There are also many other prizes, Total Weight, Empty Creel – in last years over $25,000 was handed out in prizes. Angles will fish Friday evening, all day Saturday, and part of Sunday.

Non-anglers are also welcome to enjoy the Pancake Breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning; watch the Parade of Lights at dusk Friday and Saturday, and enjoy the Fish Fry on Saturday evening.

The Pre-fishing Derby was bringing in some good sized fish, so anglers should do well in the Derby. Some of the fish are below:
