MÉNARD, Rémi Joseph

Passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015, at the age of 81 years of age, a gentle soul left this earth for a better life. Although he leaves many people behind who loved him dearly, his spirit has been released and he is now free of all physical limitations. He touched many people in his quiet and unassuming ways. He always managed to smile no matter how badly he was feeling. Family meant everything to him and he was very proud of every one of them. He leaves behind many people who cared about him including his close friend, Christine Ménard, his stepchildren Hélène Scott (John), Maryse Dénommée, and Marc Dénommée (Gayle). He was loved by his grandchildren Cory Scott (Kathy), Ryan Scott (Chelsea), Sandra, Jonathan, and Caroline Moreau, Amanda, Nicole and David Dénommée. His nieces Hélène Parisé (Paul), Gislaine Ménard-Boulianne (Gerald), Janine Ménard (Yvon) occupied a special place in his heart as well as his sister-in-law Hermance. He is survived by his brothers Euclide, Maurice and Claude Ménard and sisters Marguerite and Lucienne. He also leaves behind many nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews, other family members and friends. Rémi chose to leave this earth in a quiet manner and did not want to be remembered publicly. Everyone he touched during the course of his life will have their own special moments and memories to remember him by. Family members will gather next month for the inurnment of his ashes.

The family would like to thank the caring and devoted nursing staff of the Lady Dunn Health Centre and Dr. A. Thomas as they helped family members prepare for his final voyage. In his final years, he was fortunate to have the help and assistance for his care from family members and the services from CCAC (Rochelle) and the Red Cross “girls”.

Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Red Cross or to the Lady Dunn Health Centre.

Arrangements entrusted to the P.M. Gilmartin Funeral Home,Wawa.
