Tickets are available FREE from the Sault Community<br \/>\nTheatre Centre Box Office in the Station Mall from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets may be ordered online with a $2.50 online convenience fee per ticket charged by the Box Office. Please note that children must be in Grade 4 or higher to attend.<\/p>\n<p>How to Hug a Porcupine is a new theatrical comedy created by Adam Francis Proulx and directed by Byron Laviolette. Blending puppetry, live performance, and projection, the production was previously workshopped in Sault Ste Marie by Proulx in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>The story follows Will, a contemporary puppeteer hired in 2026 to revive a dusty educational presentation from 1954. What begins as a routine job slowly unravels. The archival Narrator, the charming porcupine puppet, and other elements begin to push back \u2013 transforming the piece into a surprising, funny, and deeply human exploration of vulnerability, miscommunication, and courage.<\/p>\n<p>Designed to be enjoyed by both hearing and deaf or hard of hearing audiences, an ASL interpreter is integrated into the performance and will be on stage throughout every show, making accessibility an essential part of the storytelling experience.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Algoma District School Board is partnering with the Algoma Fall Festival and Sault North Rotary to offer families and community members a free evening performance of How to Hug a Porcupine today, Friday, October 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sault Community Theatre Centre.
