The female was transported back to the detachment to be released the next morning when sober. The male partner, who was also intoxicated, was advised to not drive, and get a motel room for the night.<\/p>\n<p>Around 11:40 p.m. the male driver attended at the Nipigon Detachment, driving a motor vehicle with a trailer in tow to pick up his spouse. He appeared to still be under the influence of alcohol and officers conducted a Mandatory Alcohol Screening breath test, to which the male failed. He was arrested and taken inside for further testing.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, Tyler SHAPKA, 31 years-old of Carstairs AB was charged under the <em>Criminal Code<\/em> with<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Operation while Impaired &#8211; alcohol and drugs<\/li>\n<li>Operation while Impaired &#8211; over 80<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The accused has been released and is to attend court in Thunder Bay at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>The OPP remains committed to taking alcohol\/drug-impaired drivers off our roads through enforcement and public education.
