Eld\u00adest daugh\u00adter of par\u00adents Wil\u00adbert New\u00adton Jam\u00adieson (19121982) and Olivia Marion Jam\u00adieson (nee Skitch, 1914-1990]. Cher\u00adished grand\u00admother to Ben\u00adjamin and Skye Kavcic, and great-grand\u00admother to Kali\u00adlah. Beloved sis\u00adter of Mar\u00adilyn &#8220;Mar\u00adney&#8221; Gar\u00adwah. Lov\u00ading aunt to Chris Mack\u00adnight, Nat\u00adalie Gar\u00adwah, Rick Mack\u00adnight (1973-2017) and Jen\u00adnifer Mack\u00adnight, and their chil\u00addren. Susanne grew up in Lind\u00adsay, mov\u00ading to nearby Peter\u00adbor\u00adough to attend the Peter\u00adbor\u00adough Civic Hos\u00adpital School of Nurs\u00ading. She became a Registered Nurse in 1964, train\u00ading at both Whitby Psych and the Hos\u00adpital for Sick Chil\u00addren in Toronto dur\u00ading her school\u00ading, before mov\u00ading to Hailey\u00adbury for her first job.<\/p>\n<p>After stints in Wawa, and Chi\u00adbou\u00adgamau and Hud\u00adson in Que\u00adbec, Susanne settled with her first hus\u00adband and baby daugh\u00adter Kelly-ann, in Elliot Lake, in 1970. Iden\u00adti\u00adfied as a leader early on, Susanne was pro\u00admoted first to super\u00advisor, then to head nurse.<\/p>\n<p>Her younger daugh\u00adter Kari made her a patient at St Joe&#8217;s for the first time, in 1973. While man\u00adaging two small chil\u00addren, she pur\u00adsued her Nurs\u00ading degree at Ryer\u00adson via dis\u00adtance edu\u00adca\u00adtion, also cer\u00adti\u00adfy\u00ading to be a Flight Nurse for patient air trans\u00adports to both Sud\u00adbury and Toronto. She even\u00adtu\u00adally man\u00adaged the pedi\u00adat\u00adric, obstet\u00adrics, and long-term care depart\u00adments at St Joe&#8217;s, retir\u00ading in 1998 after a nearly 30-year career. She was recog\u00adnized for her high stand\u00adards and for her devo\u00adtion to train\u00ading the next gen\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtions of carers.<\/p>\n<p>Susanne loved garden\u00ading, golf\u00ading, curl\u00ading, and relax\u00ading on Man\u00adit\u00adoulin Island or \u00cele d&#8217;orl\u00e9ans or PEI with Roger in their trailer. She was an avid volun\u00adteer over the years, espe\u00adcially in swim\u00adming. For years she trav\u00adelled as a top swim\u00adming offi\u00adcial and to the girls&#8217; meets as well. She offi\u00adci\u00adated at the Com\u00admon\u00adwealth Games in Vic\u00adtoria in 1994 &#8211; it was a real high\u00adlight for her to par\u00adti\u00adcip\u00adate at the inter\u00adna\u00adtional level.<\/p>\n<p>She enjoyed trav\u00adel\u00adling and tak\u00ading in all the exper\u00adi\u00adences life had to offer, includ\u00ading dream trips to Europe to see Kari while she was a Rotary exchange stu\u00addent, on cruises around the Carib\u00adbean, to New York to see Bar\u00adbra Streis\u00adand in con\u00adcert, and to Scot\u00adland with her daugh\u00adters and grand\u00addaugh\u00adter to retrace her fam\u00adily&#8217;s life there.<\/p>\n<p>The fam\u00adily would like to thank the staff of both the North\u00adeast Can\u00adcer Centre in Sud\u00adbury and St. Joseph&#8217;s Gen\u00aderal Hos\u00adpital in Elliot Lake. The doc\u00adtors, nurses, and PSWS cared for Susanne with ten\u00adder\u00adness, com\u00adpas\u00adsion, and pro\u00adfes\u00adsion\u00adal\u00adism &#8211; pre\u00adcisely the kind of care she showed her patients over her many years as a nurse.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers, dona\u00adtions can made to St Joseph&#8217;s Found\u00ada\u00adtion Elliot Lake, and memor\u00adies can be shared via the Park Lawn web\u00adsite.<\/p>\n<p>Per Susanne&#8217;s wishes, there will be no formal ser\u00advice.
