The 0.1-hectare fire is now out.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e77ae08c8372805363c87a54c9edfb589\"><strong>Fort Frances 48 (FOR048) <\/strong>is located near the Lower Manitou Lake, approximately 15 kilometers west of Highway 502. The 0.1-hectare fire is under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ec5bc71214af2e33d68bd3f845529ba09\"><strong>Kenora 23 (KEN023) <\/strong>was located on Lake of the woods, near Rat Portage First Nation. The 0.1-hectare fire is now out.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e31cae4bcc1b6bc8c8f3277e91b29e891\"><strong>Thunder Bay 64 (THU064) <\/strong>is located near Wabinosha Bay, approximately 12 kilometers east of Highway 527. The 0.1-hectare fire is not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e49e65b992996d3fd2490f7860dbfc091\"><strong>Nipigon 85 (NIP(085) <\/strong>is located south of Lake Nipigon, approximately 14 kilometers west of Highway 585. The 0.1-hectare fire is being held.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e7202c13e6612f11c9d9e12e74801ecb8\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 104 (SLK104) <\/strong>was located near Lake St. Joseph, approximately 29 kilometers northwest of Highway 599. The 0.1-hectare fire is now out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the time of this update there are 130 active wildland fires in the Northwest Region. Of those fires, 27 are not under control, 5 are being held, 7 are under control 91 are being observed.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Fires of note<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Thunder Bay 36 (THU036)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e4c317c7ab0a0ae1db1793b6ce8f21052\">Additional crews arrived on the fire line today from Alberta Wildfire.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ea97ec6499a1ed868ceef222732be2109\">The fire was more accurately remapped to 313, 930 hectares on July 24 through perimeter mapping flights and ground truthing efforts.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ee7db17ba6d4aaeef36423ba7650a5618\">Fire crews are continuing to locate and extinguish hot spots along the fire perimeter, with helicopter bucketing operations providing support.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e595e06c8d33f7333f660fccba0939e4e\">Heavy equipment operators are making good progress constructing fire guards.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ee1caf5a405f834a0f08b495d8b509954\">Values protection efforts are ongoing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Atikokan Cluster &#8211; Fort Frances 14 (FOR014), Fort Frances 15 (FOR015), Fort Frances 38 (FOR038)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ed2ba5ec281802c67621d2d7f9b1976e4\">FOR014 is currently measuring 51,806 hectares and remains not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e1f45b0f63cc8c1deeacd98c3993b87ca\">FOR015 is currently measuring 42,279 hectares and remains not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ea9e224d9a1079a0b3e45a20ae548f953\">Fire behaviour remained low today following overnight rainfall.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ef7965a849ca6d8a8e83b3e5b140a10dd\">Firefighting crews from Ontario and Alberta continue to establish hose lines and patrol for fire activity, supported by bucketing helicopters.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e46f23653103547a000407ed8fd67962d\">FireRanger crews assigned to a specialized wildland fire engine are establishing hose lines near road accessible areas.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ebce1c5eeab9c18fd8028e9c2f0c11b8c\">FOR038, north of Crystal Lake, is under control at 44.2 hectares in size. Firefighters are using infrared scanning maps to seek out and extinguish remaining hotspots.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sioux Lookout 72 \u2013 Cat Lake First Nation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e53e2cd0cc1a60d28a721c67c324f9478\">Sioux Lookout 72 was among the fires that exhibited significant growth on July 13 and 14.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e571462e83c8b328aa8a7677a00683abc\">The fire is currently measuring 23,597 hectares and is not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e817fb47fecdbd99f1d6f3b325c8d0753\">Fire Ranger crews are making good progress on suppression efforts supported by bucketing helicopters targeting hotspots.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e72fec6f0755def738eae1a490faacb78\">Hydro One has replaced burnt poles along the Cat Lake hydro line and power has been restored.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Brightsand Cluster &#8211; Dryden 34 (DRY034), Dryden 35 (DRY035), Thunder Bay 54 (THU054), and Thunder Bay 56 (THU056)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e08c5cb10d14d94c90219d34f629f4267\">There have been no significant changes to the fire perimeters in several days.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e38116d1f7e7480020e72c0f9fb3cbfd2\">Minimal fire behaviour was observed again today.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ebe9e4ab0321865dc4bca887ae69c5626\">DRY034 is currently measuring 44,954 hectares and remains not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e37a6cd616c11e2ff5bdc6de19f722f66\">DRY035 is currently measuring 22,461 hectares and remains not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e431bdb2c48efe4f5cb0c66a2a62d580c\">FireRanger crews are working on establishing hose lines alongside heavy equipment operators constructing fire guards along portions of DRY035.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e7a835fd7c06bd54640133f58b6b3e629\">THU054 is currently measuring 7,859 hectares and remains not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e957593707dc0ac6a8bcc589466ed688f\">THU056 is currently measuring 7,947 hectares and remains not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ec89b7e92bf60520398276abbfd39ba05\">Bucketing helicopters are targeting hotspots while heavy equipment operators construct fire guards along portions of THU056.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Dryden 36 \u2013 Upper and Lower Moosehide Lakes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ee43b0fe07f0d3c526c8d1b3a86cc640e\">The fire is currently measuring 1,784 hectares and is not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e2c6ff815614847995ffd9f3733af651e\">Ontario FireRangers are working alongside Alberta Wildfire firefighters, bucketing helicopters and heavy equipment operators in suppression operations.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e7421a425da0b5c470129bc4c73a89680\">Minimal growth has been observed in several days under favourable weather conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Updated: July\u00a025,\u00a02026\u00a0at 6:24\u00a0p.m.\u202fCentral Daylight Time (CDT) There were 6 new wildland fire confirmed in the Northwest Region by the evening of July 25.
