The Ministry of Natural Resources is currently working to contain these fires.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">At this time, there is no immediate threat to the City of Thunder Bay. However, wildfire conditions can change quickly, and residents are encouraged to remain informed and be prepared.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">A fire ban remains in effect for the City of Thunder Bay and surrounding municipalities. Residents are reminded to respect the ban and avoid any activity that could increase the risk of wildfire. Even a single spark can have serious consequences during periods of extreme fire danger.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The City also encourages all residents to take a few simple steps to prepare for emergencies:<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"auto\"><strong>Prepare a 72-hour emergency kit with essential medications, important documents, clothing, food, water and other necessities.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li dir=\"auto\"><strong>-Develop a household emergency and evacuation plan.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li dir=\"auto\"><strong>-Stay informed through official sources and follow instructions from emergency officials should conditions change.<\/strong>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>As our community welcomes evacuees from across the region, we also ask residents to extend patience, understanding, and kindness to those who have been forced to leave their homes. Many families have arrived with little notice and are facing uncertainty.
