Of those fires, 1 is not under control, 1 is being held, 1 is under control, and 17 are being observed.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div><div class=\"divider\"><\/div>\n<h3>Northwest Region<\/h3>\n<p>Updated: June 30,\u00a02026 at 18:30\u00a0p.m. \u202fCentral Daylight Time (<abbr>CDT<\/abbr>)<\/p>\n<p>There were 3\u00a0new wildland fires confirmed in the Northwest Region by the early evening of June 30.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"efcce61b1c64418dc04a64613622852b2\"><strong>Dryden 20\u00a0(DRY020)<\/strong> is located near Glider Lake, approximately 19\u00a0kilometres east of Perrault Falls. The fire is not under control at 0.2\u00a0hectares.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e5a790758f2235589a59baeef9c2c11b5\"><strong>Fort Frances 14\u00a0(FOR014)<\/strong> is located approximately 35\u00a0kilometres southwest of Upsala near Byers Lake. The 4.0\u00a0hectare fire is not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ee96de51a668520ba3ee2f1a6a805a97c\"><strong>Thunder Bay 30\u00a0(THU030)<\/strong> is located near Huronian Lake, approximately 28\u00a0kilometres west of Kashabowie. The 3.0\u00a0hectare fire is not under control and received air attack from water bombers today.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the time of this update there are 72\u00a0active wildland fires in the Northwest Region. Of these fires, 30\u00a0are not under control, 2\u00a0fires are being held, 4\u00a0fires are under control and 36\u00a0are being observed. One fire has been called out over the past 24\u00a0hours.<\/p>\n<p>A reconnaissance flight in the far north of the Sioux Lookout sector located 12\u00a0new fire starts during the evening hours of June 29, following the previous update.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e6098c7ebeee6ec76c8a855971179ed3b\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 54 (SLK054) <\/strong>\u2013 48\u00a0hectares, being observed. 37\u00a0kilometres northwest of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation (Big Trout Lake).<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e5f4cb6c3ef88fdff2f695d9833fd13da\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 55\u00a0(SLK055)<\/strong> \u2013 9\u00a0hectares, being observed. 59\u00a0kilometres southwest of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation (Big Trout Lake).<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ee9c2b19108b5e77ac414054149c8d45c\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 53\u00a0(SLK053)<\/strong> \u2013 49\u00a0hectares, being observed. 38\u00a0kilometres northwest of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation (Big Trout Lake).<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e56e77d4595c8700e1cfef49c58ced4bd\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 52\u00a0(SLK052)<\/strong> \u2013 240\u00a0hectares, being observed. 90\u00a0kilometres north of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation (Big Trout Lake).<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e490673792d8a3aeed6460baa0f91b63f\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 51\u00a0(SLK051)<\/strong> \u2013 323\u00a0hectares, being observed. 57\u00a0kilometres north of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation (Big Trout Lake)<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e6f3dd438dfa32ebe7d6a1ee1086dc27e\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 50\u00a0(SLK050)<\/strong> \u2013 181\u00a0hectares, being observed. 47\u00a0kilometres north of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation (Big Trout Lake).<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ed484691eca34cf6fb9c83ef42667bbe9\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 49\u00a0(SLK049)<\/strong> \u2013 813\u00a0hectares, being observed. 62\u00a0kilometres northeast of Sachigo Lake.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"eb8c4e9280b7935a9d033fc1150a08021\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 48\u00a0(SLK048)<\/strong> \u2013 38\u00a0hectares, being observed. 76\u00a0kilometres northeast of Sachigo Lake<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ed6956d25b5ef3d6e6a6489423bf08e2d\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 47\u00a0(SLK047)<\/strong> \u2013 27\u00a0hectares being observed. 100\u00a0kilometres north of Sachigo Lake<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"eb713732022e53048ff753d9edb463fc1\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 46\u00a0(SLK046)<\/strong> \u2013 442\u00a0hectares being observed. 116\u00a0kilometres north of Sachigo Lake on the Provincial boundary.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e7e258e9acfe2a6cefcc88e3dff384986\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 45\u00a0(SLK045)<\/strong> \u2013 95\u00a0hectares, being observed. 66\u00a0kilometres north of Sachigo Lake.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ed1b0f0e6495a2c3bf3b268e414a4e125\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 44\u00a0(SLK044)<\/strong> \u2013 55\u00a0hectares, being observed. 29\u00a0kilometres northeast of Sachigo Lake.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Fires of note<\/h4>\n<h5><strong>Kasabonika Complex<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e96a115ee5763fb65354ee943d561897d\">The fire area received overnight rainfall.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"eeb5d8d9888dc7b3e01582fb72f038799\"><strong>Nipigon 16\u00a0(NIP016)<\/strong> is located approximately 6\u00a0kilometres south of Kasabonika Lake First Nation Airport.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e4382a23328d3d8ca03c7a2de344a4e50\">The fire was re-mapped today to an increased size of 1,472\u00a0hectares. The fire\u2019s status remains not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e2eaa7f0a38e6aa0a098f8ab83790d794\">9\u00a0FireRanger crews, 4\u00a0overhead staff, 4\u00a0helicopters and 1\u00a0fixed wing aircraft have been assigned to the Kasabonika Complex of fires.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e69d5f9333f553f44e3657c2b45f2646a\">Additional FireRanger crews are expected to join the suppression effort tomorrow.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e5778af1e4144e0802232962d8952a8ed\"><strong>Nipigon 12\u00a0(NIP012)<\/strong> is located approximately 20.0\u00a0kilometres west of Kasabonika Lake First Nation and currently measuring 1,110\u00a0hectares.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e5b703766d82bc1a9ba3bbaef9cdaa31a\">There are 4\u00a0additional fires in the area surrounding Kasabonika Lake First Nation.\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ea55a410fff47c6b33151146401557cd0\"><strong>Nipigon 13\u00a0(NIP013) <\/strong>is not under control and has been remapped to 298.0\u00a0hectares<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e330c2eeb58bf5e8ec577404a70a5f8cb\"><strong>Nipigon 14\u00a0(NIP014) <\/strong>is not under control at 2.0\u00a0hectares<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e1df020fce9fb4f49bcd44571827cd9fe\"><strong>Nipigon 15\u00a0(NIP015) <\/strong>is not under control at 0.1\u00a0hectares.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e8d6de74b016883a4f0fc8527ca05b8a7\"><strong>Nipigon 17\u00a0(NIP017) <\/strong>is under control at 0.7\u00a0hectares.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NOTAM in place &#8211; Kasabonika Complex<\/strong><br \/>\nThere is currently a NOTAM in the area of wildland fire Nipigon 16\u00a0near Kasabonika Lake First Nation. This is over and above the standard airspace restrictions imposed by Section 601.15\u00a0of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) which state that the airspace around all active forest fires is restricted to forest fire suppression aircraft only, specifically airspace within 5\u00a0nautical miles, up to an altitude of 3000\u00a0feet above ground level.<br \/>\nPilots are reminded that NOTAMs concerning forest fires can be found on NavCanada\u2019s Collaborative Flight Planning Services under the \u2018Weather and NOTAM\u2019 tab, when flight planning.<\/p>\n<h5>Sioux Lookout 21\u00a0\u2013 Wunnumin Lake First Nation<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e40d7a842cbc03cc2b3e66f406f5081cf\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 21\u00a0(SLK021) <\/strong>remains 357\u00a0hectares in size and is not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e33d2fa2b1b3ac1481da88f01ee3de3de\">The fire is approximately 9.0\u00a0kilometres south of the Wunnumin Lake First Nation Airport.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e24fcf35b2f94d2ba66d755c46133f10e\">FireRanger crews are making progress on a spot fire to the west of SLK 021\u00a0as well as establishing hoseline on the main fire\u2019s west flank closest to the community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NOTAM in effect &#8211; Sioux Lookout 21<\/strong><br \/>\nThere is currently a NOTAM in the area of wildland fire Sioux Lookout 21\u00a0fire near Wunnumin Lake First Nation.
