The fire is being observed.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"efde8080c3d9c9b249fdbb0c534d210fe\">Cochrane 22 (COC022) measures 350 hectares and is located north of Cochrane 21, also approximately 10 kilometres west of the Shagamu River in the Far North. The fire is being observed.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"efedcc15f64545f3a72f9880bcd4fa865\">Cochrane 23 (COC023) located approximately 16 kilometres west of Beavertrap Creek in the Far North. The fire measures 79 hectares and is being observed.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e617bee95b943d2b8567833a1902f2100\">Cochrane 24 (COC024) measures 15 hectares and is located approximately 21 kilometres southwest of the Fort Severn Airport, south of the Severn River. The fire is being observed.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ed94ba389765a05d329202ebb2d74569a\">Cochrane 25 (COC025) is 39 hectares and is located approximately 36 kilometres westsouthwest of the Fort Severn Airport, this fire is not under control.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the time of this update, there are 21 active wildland fires in the Northeast Region. Of those fires, 2 are not under control, 2 are under control, and 17 are being observed.<\/p>\n[divideer]\n<h3>Northwest Region<\/h3>\n<p>Updated: June 29,\u00a02026 at 18:29\u00a0p.m. \u202fCentral Daylight Time (<abbr>CDT<\/abbr>)<\/p>\n<p>There was 1\u00a0new fire confirmed in the Northwest Region by the early evening of June 29.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e721faf4252ff1a557df1903cb088cffc\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 43\u00a0(SLK043)<\/strong> is located approximately 42\u00a0kilometres southwest of the remote community of Bearskin Lake First Nation. The 5.3\u00a0hectare fire is not under control.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the time of this update there are 58\u00a0active fires in the Northwest Region. Of those fires, 36\u00a0are not under control, 2\u00a0fires are being held, 2\u00a0fires are under control and 18\u00a0fires are being observed. There were 4\u00a0fires called out over the past 24\u00a0hours.<\/p>\n<h4>Fires of note<\/h4>\n<h5><strong>Kasabonika Lake First Nation Complex<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"eea4ff7674405d63bcdeb4c8f1b68351e\"><strong>Nipigon 16\u00a0(NIP016) <\/strong>received air attack on Monday to reduce fire behaviour on the edges of the fire closest to the community.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e88a89c6302c727e405473aa615c06db2\">The fire is located approximately 6\u00a0kilometres south of Kasabonika Lake First Nation Airport.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e554e16b72ce306dd50afabe4e45da6fc\">The fire was remapped on Monday to a more accurate size of approximately 1,000\u00a0hectares. The fire\u2019s status remains not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ef307f63b4e7aef1d7c98decea6cdcd66\">A NOTAM has been issued, restricting aircraft in the fire area. See details below.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e826a657bfac6ef0a9ec840b13c717830\">3\u00a0FireRanger crews and overhead staff have been assigned to the Kasabonika Complex of fires with 3\u00a0additional crews inbound on Tuesday.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ec30bb847744d4305c04ebc4de6446801\"><strong>Nipigon 12\u00a0(NIP012)<\/strong> is located approximately 20.0\u00a0kilometres west of Kasabonika Lake First Nation and currently measuring 1,100\u00a0hectares.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e1cca113d4925e850ab2513b77d556e3a\">There are 4\u00a0additional fires in the area surrounding Kasabonika Lake First Nation.\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e55f92437f579fda8d6ba4feacfc39960\"><strong>Nipigon 13\u00a0(NIP013) <\/strong>is not under control and has been remapped to 298.0\u00a0hectares<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e08c2ccaa69a074130f17e2bec8d95843\"><strong>Nipigon 14\u00a0(NIP014) <\/strong>is not under control at 2.0\u00a0hectares<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"eadff380be2a40b913e29d0dc7a9d0f72\"><strong>Nipigon 15\u00a0(NIP015) <\/strong>is not under control at 0.1\u00a0hectares.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e453113a0ef85b07b057c94afef0734f5\"><strong>Nipigon 17\u00a0(NIP017) <\/strong>is being held at 0.7\u00a0hectares.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NOTAM in effect &#8211; Nipigon 16<\/strong><br \/>\nThere is currently a NOTAM in the area of wildland fire Nipigon 16\u00a0near Kasabonika Lake First Nation. This is over and above the standard airspace restrictions imposed by Section 601.15\u00a0of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) which state that the airspace around all active forest fires is restricted to forest fire suppression aircraft only, specifically airspace within 5\u00a0nautical miles, up to an altitude of 3000\u00a0feet above ground level.<br \/>\nPilots are reminded that NOTAMs concerning forest fires can be found on NavCanada\u2019s Collaborative Flight Planning Services under the \u2018Weather and NOTAM\u2019 tab, when flight planning.<\/p>\n<h5>Sioux Lookout 21\u00a0\u2013 Wunnumin Lake First Nation<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"eab9fa7db97e821c53a540f652e3f814f\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 21\u00a0(SLK021) <\/strong>remains 357\u00a0hectares in size and is not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"eb76346e86037d0df1be7964e5e4a71ed\">The fire is approximately 9.0\u00a0kilometres south of the Wunnumin Lake First Nation Airport.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e6f0482483d40a6b87d95ba07769a855c\">6\u00a0FireRanger crews have been assigned to Sioux Lookout 21\u00a0with minimal growth observed on the fire perimeter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NOTAM at Sioux Lookout 21<\/strong><br \/>\nThere is currently a NOTAM in the area of wildland fire Sioux Lookout 21\u00a0fire near Wunnumin Lake First Nation.
