The fire is being observed.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e95ff5f4de3602999db820abff4d11afc\"><strong>Cochrane 9 (COC009)<\/strong> is 0.5 of a hectare and is located along Hill River, approximately 20 kilometres northwest of Sticky Lake. The fire is being observed.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e8bca118bd1fadded012c95161230cd8f\"><strong>Cochrane 10 (COC010)<\/strong> and <strong>Cochrane 11 (COC011) <\/strong>are located south of the East Akandamo river, approximately 12 kilometres southwest of Round Lake. The two fires measure 9 and 8 hectares, respectively, and are being observed.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"edb05a3513d020c8078b5641d1ed5672d\"><strong>Cochrane 12 (COC012)<\/strong> is 93 hectares and is located approximately 23 kilometres southwest of Round Lake. The fire is being observed.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e1469c677450a70ed5996636b866852ea\"><strong>Cochrane 13 (COC013)<\/strong> is 1 hectare and is located approximately 24 kilometres west of the Severn River, and 70 kilometres southwest of Fort Severn. The fire is being observed.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e9d0b7c28d63a0e916d06959f657cbb21\"><strong>Cochrane 14 (COC014)<\/strong> is 19 hectares and is located approximately 25 kilometres southeast of Mistahayo Lake. The fire is being observed.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"efa6cc4dfe7fd76921470d072b72341bc\"><strong>Cochrane 15\u00a0(COC015)<\/strong> is 1.5 hectares and is located approximately 75 kilometres south of Fort Severn, and 52 kilometres east of the Severn River. The fire is being observed.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e25c17b0e34db4d0fa85b60eccce16aa6\"><strong>Cochrane 16 (COC016)<\/strong> is 0.5 of a hectare and is located approximately 38 kilometres southwest of Fort Severn. The fire is being observed.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"eb493f208e019c3e5096b27d276e7d050\"><strong>Timmins 14 (TIM014) <\/strong>is 0.1 of a hectare and is located along the southern shore of Lake Abitibi, 4.5 kilometres northeast of Trollope Lake. The fire is being held.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ee477f18ef6c3cb4a8767ac130dedcd04\"><strong>Cochrane 17\u00a0(COC017)<\/strong> is 20 hectares and is located approximately 8 kilometres north of Lake Abitibi, and 35 kilometres west of the Quebec border. The fire is not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e19d2bb4cc899bf1439cdf111a24401b1\"><strong>Timmins 15 (TIM015) <\/strong>is 0.5 of a hectare and is located approximately 2 kilometres north of Southbear Lake, and 13 kilometres south of Highway 560. The fire is not under control.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the time of this update, there are 14 active wildland fires in the Northeast Region. Of those fires, 2 are not under control, 1 is being held, 1 is under control and 10 are being observed.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div><div class=\"divider\"><\/div>\n<h3>Northwest Region<\/h3>\n<p>Updated: June 28,\u00a02026 at 20:45\u00a0p.m. \u202fCentral Daylight Time (<abbr>CDT<\/abbr>)<\/p>\n<p>One additional fire was confirmed in the evening hours of June 27, following the previous update.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e4713d5841fbe4f4911df91296ddf1814\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 36 (SLK036)<\/strong> is located approximately 27.0 kilometres west of Highway 599, near Greenlee Lake. The 0.1-hectare fire is not under control.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nine new wildland fires were confirmed in the Northwest Region by the evening of June 28.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"eafafa790533d35802be202a9f0f5653d\"><strong>Nipigon 19 (NIP019)<\/strong> is located approximately 34.0 kilometres northeast of Ogoki Lake, near Winslow Lake. The 0.1-hectare fire is being observed<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e7d2079e61786a8b0b12cb9e2543ed8bd\"><strong>Nipigon 20 (NIP020)<\/strong> is located approximately 2.5 kilometres north of Wedlock Road, north of Hindson Lake. The 0.3-hectare fire is not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"eeb5155318f4895f6ad8c4f5153ad9c1f\"><strong>Red Lake 20 (RED020)<\/strong> is located approximately in the northeast side of Opasquia Provincial Park, north of Pasateko Lake. The 10.0-hectare fire is not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e446bce0a8a4eab03ebd19b5bbbdc0afc\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 37 (SLK037)<\/strong> is located on Thistle Island, between Zionz Lake and Fawcett Lake. The 0.1-hectare fire is being held.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"eedc838b83df828e82395d0530169b3c7\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 38 (SLK038) <\/strong>and <strong>Sioux Lookout 39 (SLK039) <\/strong>are located approximately 10.0 kilometres southeast of Bearskin Lake. The two fires measure 125.0 and 0.6 hectares, respectively, and are not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e24271a2bcb0825aae62ff21c267fe425\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 40 (SLK040) <\/strong>is located approximately 10.0 kilometres south of Pineimuta Lake, south of Pineimuta River. The 3.0-hectare fire is not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e0180e2d844650946d8a6dc4df2ea0176\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 41 (SLK041)<\/strong> is located approximately 13.0 kilometres west of Assin Lake, south of Fennel Lake. The 25.0-hectare fire is not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"efb8ff5c927f18c186ba1e456a7949888\"><strong>Sioux Lookout 42 (SLK042) <\/strong>is located approximately 4.0 kilometres south of Obabigan Lake and Pineimuta River confluence. The 2.5-hectare fire is being observed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the time of this update there are 61 active wildland fires in the Northwest Region. Of these fires, 36 are not under control, 3 are being held, 5 are under control and 17 are being observed. Seven fires were called out today.<\/p>\n<p>To access the current forest fire danger rating in your area visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lioapplications.lrc.gov.on.ca\/ForestFireInformationMap\/index.html?viewer=FFIM.FFIM\">interactive fire map<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Fires of note<\/h4>\n<h5><strong>Kasabonika Lake First Nation Complex<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e1d8c067f5da194940ad100366536f83d\"><strong>Nipigon 12 (NIP012)<\/strong> is located approximately 20.0 kilometres west of Kasabonika Lake First Nation and currently measuring 1,100 hectares.\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ed429448ca6d87706aba8413e7284dc6c\">Minimal fire activity was observed today.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e19e964c1e38493e8b1cad1d341aa47fc\"><strong>Nipigon 16 (NIP016) <\/strong>is located approximately 6.0 kilometres south of Kasabonika Lake First Nation Airport and currently measuring 1,000 hectares.\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ec9f06a56a966710ca51358cd4b5bc5aa\">Aerial suppression using CL-415 waterbombers was carried out throughout the day.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ebaace549f3ef316ec36f55b226b3aa99\">There are currently 3 FireRanger crews assigned to the fire.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e7ea9a91aa2d86801667d561510fb6202\">There are 4 additional fires in the area surrounding Kasabonika Lake First Nation.\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ed0c94395825847842f686e4a9bab21d5\"><strong>Nipigon 13 (NIP013) <\/strong>is not under control at 324.0 hectares<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"ee8204c4a8f93eb245c0495cc56f9c66f\"><strong>Nipigon 14 (NIP014)<\/strong> is not under control at 2.0 hectares<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e54b81e20999ea435843fc7d21a79f9fc\"><strong>Nipigon 15 (NIP015)<\/strong> is not under control at 0.1 hectares.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"eca49c1751be8fc7bb751c2ec27fcfa9d\"><strong>Nipigon 17 (NIP017) <\/strong>is being held at 0.7 hectares.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Sioux Lookout 21 \u2013 Wunnumin Lake First Nation<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e8c80e797b1bbe68855787a752eb88d51\">Sioux Lookout 21 (SLK021) is currently measuring 357.0 hectares and is not under control.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e5ee09d888c9e09e52e36fcc3c0594437\">The fire is approximately 9.0 kilometres south of the Wunnumin Lake First Nation Airport.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e3cba28ff75615bb69a3b4a72bc58961d\">Aerial suppression using CL-415 waterbombers was carried out throughout the weekend.<\/li>\n<li data-list-item-id=\"e570f39a48a36495232164aeb1e761730\">FireRanger crews made excellent progress today with minimal growth observed on the fire perimeter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Northeast Region Updated: June\u00a028,\u00a02026 at 6:00\u00a0p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) There were 12 wildland fires confirmed in the Northeast Region today: Cochrane 8 (COC008) is 153 hectares and is located along Rocksand River, approximately 72 kilometres northwest of Moshikopaw Lake.
