Of those fires, 3 are not under control, 1 is being held, and 3 are under control.<\/p>\n<p>There were two wildland fire confirmed in the Northeast Region today:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sudbury 5 (SUD005) <\/strong>is 0.1 hectares in size and is located on the southeast shore of Kenabigoons Lake. This fire is not under control.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sudbury 6 (SUD006)<\/strong> is 0.1 hectares and located on an island on the North Channel of the French River, approximately 1 kilometre northeast of Whippoorwill Road. This fire is not under control.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There were 2 new fires confirmed after the update last night:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Chapleau 4 (CHA004) <\/strong>was 0.1 hectares in size and located approximately 3 kilometers south of Sand Bay and west of 4 Seasons Road. The fire is now out.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Haliburton 19 (HAL019) <\/strong>was 0.1 hectares in size and located 1 kilometer northwest of the intersection of Highway 62 and Boulter Road. The fire is now out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Northwest Region:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the time of this update there are 11\u00a0active fires in the Northwest Region. Of these fires, 6\u00a0are not under control, 3\u00a0fires are under control and 2\u00a0fires are being observed.<\/p>\n<p>There were 5\u00a0new fires confirmed in the Northwest Region by the early evening of June 1.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Thunder Bay 20\u00a0(THU020<\/strong>) is located near a rail corridor approximately 53\u00a0kilometres west of Armstrong. The fire is not under control at 10\u00a0hectares in size.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thunder Bay 19\u00a0(THU019)<\/strong> is located near a rail corridor approximately 33\u00a0kilometres west of Armstrong. The 1.0\u00a0hectare fire is not under control.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thunder Bay 18\u00a0(THU018)<\/strong> is located adjacent to the Matawin River, approximately 2.7\u00a0kilometres east of Sistonen\u2019s Corner. The fire is not under control at 0.1\u00a0hectare in size.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Red Lake 6<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>(RED006)<\/strong> is located approximately 14\u00a0kilometres northeast of Poplar Hill First Nation. The fire is not under control at 40 hectares.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dryden 15<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>(DRY015) <\/strong>was located near Amesdale Lake, approximately 28\u00a0kilometres north of Dryden.
