Murder by an intimate partner accounts for half of all homicides of women. And racialized women are particularly vulnerable, including a heartbreaking number of missing,\u00a0taken\u00a0and murdered Indigenous women.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With new revelations of sexual harassment, assault, and violence making headlines on a daily basis, the widespread nature of violence against women in our society is more apparent than ever before.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Together, we can work for lasting change.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ontario\u2019s New Democrats are fighting for measures like mandatory sexual violence training for servers and bartenders and better coordination of resources in response to gender-based violence. I believe paid leave for victims of domestic and intimate partner violence is critical, so women can access the resources they need to escape violent or dangerous situations, and rebuild\u00a0their\u00a0lives.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>New Democrats want to work\u00a0together with all\u00a0Ontarians to build a culture in which women and girls are respected and safe.
