{"id":81600,"date":"2026-03-09T08:31:45","date_gmt":"2026-03-09T12:31:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=81600"},"modified":"2026-03-09T08:31:45","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T12:31:45","slug":"police-arrest-5-in-brunswick-house-fn-search-warrant-execution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2026\/03\/09\/police-arrest-5-in-brunswick-house-fn-search-warrant-execution\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Arrest 5 in Brunswick House FN search warrant execution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"animating\">Police arrested five suspects after seizing suspected fentanyl from a Brunswick House First Nation home Monday, March 2nd.<\/p>\n<p class=\"animating\">Members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service\u2019s Intelligence Unit, Emergency Response Team, and members of the OPP\u2019s Community Street Crime Unit, executed a search warrant at a residential address in the zero-to-100 block of Mountbatten Road in Brunswick House First Nation on Monday, March 2.<\/p>\n<p class=\"animating\">The warrant was obtained as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity within the community of Brunswick House First Nation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"animating\">When police entered the home, they located and arrested five suspects without incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"animating\">Following a search of the home, police located and seized a quantity of suspected Fentanyl, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.<\/p>\n<p class=\"animating\">Daniel JACQUES, 41, of Brunswick House First Nation, is charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"animating\">Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"animating\">Chad Jules Gabriel QUAKEGESIC, 26, of Brunswick House First Nation, is charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"animating\">Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"animating\">Margaret Ann QUAKEGESIC, 58, of Brunswick House First Nation, is charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"animating\">Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"animating\">Dylan Robert MCWATCH, 33, of Brunswick House First Nation, is charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"animating\">Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking<\/li>\n<li class=\"animating\">Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000<\/li>\n<li class=\"animating\">Failure to Comply with Release Order<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"animating\">Chantal SPENCE, 36, of Brunswick House First Nation, is charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"animating\">Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking<\/li>\n<li class=\"animating\">Failure to Comply with Release Order<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"animating\">SPENCE and MCWATCH appeared for a bail hearing on Tuesday, March 3 and were remanded into custody with future court dates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"animating\">The other three suspects have since been released from custody with conditions and future court appearance dates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"animating\">The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police arrested five suspects after seizing suspected fentanyl from a Brunswick House First Nation home Monday, March 2nd.
