Marie\/Algoma District in 2024? Then consider nominating them for a Clean North Award. Individuals\/businesses can also nominate themselves.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadline for nominations is noon on March 21, 2025.\u00a0 <\/strong>Nomination forms are at cleannorth.org\/clean-north-awards.<\/p>\n<p>Nominees\/applicants should be those who best exemplify service to help keep our local environment and community clean and green through environmental action in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Previous recipients are not eligible. The categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Elementary Student Award \u2014 $100<\/strong> (Sault Ste. Marie\/Algoma elementary students)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Secondary Student Award \u2014 $200<\/strong> (Sault Ste. Marie\/Algoma secondary students)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Citizen Award \u2014 $200 <\/strong>(Sault Ste. Marie\/Algoma residents age 18+)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Business Award \u2014 framed citation <\/strong>(Sault Ste. Marie\/Algoma businesses)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These awards are intended to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>promote local environmental success stories and initiatives<\/li>\n<li>recognize environmental leaders within our community<\/li>\n<li>provide financial support to environmental stewards<\/li>\n<li>encourage young people to take an interest in environmental protection<\/li>\n<li>improve awareness of ways to protect our local environment<\/li>\n<li>inspire others to act to protect our land, air, and water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Since 2020, Clean North has given out 32 awards to students, citizens, and businesses.\u00a0 Check out our website to see past winners at: www.cleannorth.org<\/p>\n<p>Clean North is a grassroots organization run by volunteers and funded through memberships and donations.
