{"id":69071,"date":"2024-09-11T07:28:37","date_gmt":"2024-09-11T11:28:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=69071"},"modified":"2024-09-11T07:28:37","modified_gmt":"2024-09-11T11:28:37","slug":"csc-nouvelon-student-trustees-look-forward-to-representing-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2024\/09\/11\/csc-nouvelon-student-trustees-look-forward-to-representing-students\/","title":{"rendered":"CSC Nouvelon student trustees look forward to representing students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">This year, Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon will benefit from the dedication of two student trustees who will serve as student representatives for the Board as well as the Student Senate.<\/span><b><span lang=\"EN-CA\"> M\u00e9lanie Denis-Plante<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-CA\">, a grade 12 student at \u00c9cole secondaire catholique l\u2019Horizon (Val Caron), and <b>Lydia Raddon<\/b>, a grade 11 student at \u00c9cole secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord (Blind River) <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">will take part in the Board\u2019s first meeting on September 23 during which they will be sworn-in.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Committed to enriching the Francophone and Catholic space at her school, M\u00e9lanie Denis-Plante sits on the Student Parliament at \u00c9SC l&#8217;Horizon. Devoted to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment, she plays an active role in organizing and hosting activities and gatherings at her school. In addition to being editor for the past three years with the student newspaper <i>Tapage<\/i>, produced by <i>Le Voyageur<\/i>, M\u00e9lanie sits on the <\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\">F\u00e9d\u00e9ration de la jeunesse franco-ontarienne (<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">FESFO) representative council and is involved in organizing provincial events and recruitment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Lydia Raddon<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\"> stands out for her leadership, involvement in extracurricular activities and participation in her school\u2019s volleyball, cross-country skiing and cross-country running teams. As well as being a part of \u00c9SC Jeunesse-Nord&#8217;s student radio station, she is a member of the musical group La Vol\u00e9e du Nord. Lydia also shares her leadership skills by being involved in the Student Parliament and as editor of the student newspaper <i>Tapage<\/i>. Volunteering at Galilean Bible Camp has also helped her strengthen her commitment to Christian values and her Francophone pride.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">\u201c<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Our student trustees are the voice of our students and hold an important role in the promotion of French-language Catholic Education,\u201d states Ms. Suzanne Salituri, President of the CSC Nouvelon.\u00a0\u201cThey will play an important leadership role both at the board level and within our secondary schools.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201cI have full confidence that Lydia and M\u00e9lanie will fulfill their duties as student representative for the Board as well as the Board\u2019s Student Senate,\u201d adds Mr. Paul E.
