{"id":66932,"date":"2024-05-07T04:47:42","date_gmt":"2024-05-07T08:47:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=66932"},"modified":"2024-05-07T04:47:42","modified_gmt":"2024-05-07T08:47:42","slug":"government-of-ontario-is-hosting-exercise-heatwave-today-in-6-municipalities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2024\/05\/07\/government-of-ontario-is-hosting-exercise-heatwave-today-in-6-municipalities\/","title":{"rendered":"Government of Ontario is hosting Exercise Heatwave today in 6 Municipalities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of Emergency Preparedness Week, the Government of Ontario is hosting Exercise Heatwave, a large-scale simulated exercise which will reinforce provincial procedures and response to heat-related emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExercise Heatwave is a valuable opportunity to practise and plan for our response to potential extreme heat emergencies,\u201d said Caroline Mulroney, President of the Treasury Board and Minister responsible for Emergency Management. \u201cPlanning exercises like this one will play a critical role in keeping Ontarians safe while reducing economic strain and minimizing impacts on our infrastructure and environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Exercise Heatwave is part of the government\u2019s multi-year Provincial Exercise Program to strengthen the province\u2019s emergency plans and whole-of-government emergency response. The exercise will help enhance coordination and collaboration between government and non-governmental partners during future emergencies. Six municipalities will participate, including Guelph, Mississauga, Peterborough, Sault Ste.
