\"\"<\/a>Principal photography has begun for the feature film\u00a0Brotherhood<\/em>\u00a0on the Michipicoten First Nation Reserve. Written and directed by\u00a0<\/span>Richard Bell<\/span>\u00a0(Eighteen<\/em>), the cast includes\u00a0<\/span>Brendan Fehr<\/span>\u00a0as Robert Butcher,\u00a0<\/span>Brendan Fletcher<\/span>\u00a0as Arthur Lambden and\u00a0<\/span>Jake Manley<\/span>\u00a0as George Waller. Based on a true Canadian story, this is the first time a feature film has been permitted to film on the sacred First Nations land near Wawa, Ontario.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u201cBrotherhood<\/em>\u00a0tells an essential tale not only because of its history, but because of the story of bravery, sacrifice and selflessness it reveals,\u201d says Richard Bell, director. \u201cIt is an honour to bring a part of Canada\u2019s rich past to the big screen.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n

The film follows an infamous 1926 canoe trip the Brotherhood of St. Andrew leadership group took. When the teenagers\u2019 canoe capsizes during a freak storm on Ontario\u2019s Balsam Lake, the boys are sent into chaos and a fight for survival.<\/span><\/div>\n

Brothethood<\/em>\u00a0is produced by\u00a0<\/span>Mehernaz Lentin<\/span>\u00a0of Industry Pictures (Portrait of a Serial Monogamist,<\/em>\u00a0Fall<\/em>), alongside\u00a0<\/span>Anand Ramayya<\/span>\u00a0of Karma Film (Chokeslam, Rufus<\/em>) and\u00a0<\/span>Jonathan Bronfman<\/span>\u00a0of JoBro Productions (The Witch, Two Lovers and a Bear<\/em>).<\/span><\/div>\n
