{"id":64730,"date":"2024-01-22T07:36:50","date_gmt":"2024-01-22T12:36:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=64730"},"modified":"2024-01-22T07:36:35","modified_gmt":"2024-01-22T12:36:35","slug":"east-algoma-opp-assistance-sought-in-missing-5-year-old","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2024\/01\/22\/east-algoma-opp-assistance-sought-in-missing-5-year-old\/","title":{"rendered":"East Algoma OPP &#8211; Assistance Sought in Missing 5-year-old UPDATE #2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span id=\"timestamp\"><b>Jan 22, 2024 at 07:36<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The OPP safely located 5-year-old Nakina and arrested mother and driver.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On January 20, 2024, shortly after 7:00 p.m., the Dryden OPP conducted a traffic stop with a westbound silver pick-up truck on Highway 17 in the Town of Dryden.\u00a0The pick-up truck initially attempted to evade police but eventually later stopped.\u00a0Police located 5-year-old Nakina BOYER and her mother Jeanette NIGANOBE who were passengers in the pick-up truck.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the investigation, Jeanette NIGANOBE, 47-years-of-age from Mississauga First Nation was charged with Abduction in contravention of court order &#8211; take or entice.<\/p>\n<p>The driver, Richard INGRAM, 68-years-of-age Blind River was charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Abduction of a person under 14 &#8211; take or entice<\/li>\n<li>Flight from peace officer<\/li>\n<li>Speeding<\/li>\n<li>Fail to stop for police<\/li>\n<li>Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Both accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail in Dryden, and both were remanded into custody.<\/p>\n<p>The OPP would like to thank their policing partners, the public and media partners for their assistance with this investigation.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"timestamp\"><b>Jan 20, 2024 at 20:52<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>On January 15, 2024, the East Algoma OPP received a missing person report involving 5-year-old Nakina BOYER who had departed her residence with her mother on this date.
