Superior East Community Futures Development Corporation in partnership with Head Start in Business will be introducing the 2017 edition of the Market Your Thoughts and Create a Logo Contests. Create a Logo is a contest for grades 3 \u2013 6 to create a logo for a business they would like to start. Market Your Thoughts asks students in grades 7 & 8 to write an essay about a business they would like to open. The contests are a great way to introduce the option of entrepreneurship to students at a young age. Representatives from Superior East and Head Start plan to launch this year\u2019s contests in March so watch for more information to come.<\/p>\n

The Superior East CFDC is a non-profit organization offering small business and community economic development services to the Superior East region. The organization offers small business loans up to $150,000. Flex loans are also available for existing businesses to access financing of up to $10,000 within a few days.<\/p>\n

Since inception in 1989, Superior East has approved and disbursed $21,667,574 in loans which has served to create or maintain 2,576 jobs in the Superior East region. The loans also leveraged $22,452,440 in funds over the years.<\/p>\n

The Superior East Community Futures Development Corporation<\/strong> is a non-profit organization governed by a local Board of Directors. The CFDC is funded by FedNor\/Industry Canada and was established in September of 1989. Superior East CFDC serves the communities of Dubreuilville, Chapleau, Wawa, White River, and First Nations located in the Superior East Region. The region is located along the North shore of Lake Superior and extends as far as Chapleau to the North and White River to the West.\r\n\r\nThe Superior East CFDC offers small business loans and counseling to the residents of the region. The organization is also involved in regional economic development.
