But when the dust settled the Northern Ontario Party had its first truly elected executive board in the Party’s history. The NOP is proud to announce that the members have overwhelmingly voted in favor of keeping the present board intact with a 96% approval rating. There was only one slight move on the executive board, that being long-term Party President Edward Deibel will now sit on the board in the role of Party Founder and Director. Ed will continue to have a say in the Party’s direction as well as maintain his role as a mentor and will give guidance to current and future board members.

Trevor Holliday the NOP party leader states that the NOP is blessed to have such a strong and passionate person as Edward Deibel giving the party guidance. How can we lose in the next election ,when we are receiving Ed’s assistance. The only question remains now is how many seats is our party going to win.

The Northern Ontario Party executive board consists of the following members

Leader – Trevor Holliday

Vice President -Tommy Lee

CFO – Andy Wolff

Media Manager- Myles Clayton

Membership & Volunteer Coordinator – Darren Davidson

Founder & Director – Edward Deibel

Secretary -Wanda Clayton

The Northern Ontario Party is seeking nominations to fill the remaining vacancies on the board as per the party’s constitution. The following positions are up for grabs in the next series of elections starting on September 8th. These positions include Party President, Vice President (second), Donation and Fundraiser Coordinator, Riding Association Liaison, and Campaign and Strategy Manager.

Nominations for these positions will begin immediately and will be collected up to the August 30th deadline. Nominations can be submitted to the NOP through our email at northernontarioparty@hotmail.com.

Also during the Party’s AGM, the party members decided to update the Party’s logo by replacing the Trillium with the bull Moose. Our members wanted to draw a further separation from the Big 3 political parties by having a symbol in our logo that was truly representative of the North.

There were many activities that the members participated in during the AGM such as strategic planning, team building and problem-solving.

Trevor Holliday states that the Party’s First AGM was a complete success, lots of things fell into place that have made our party stronger and it has prepared us to take on the challenges in the upcoming election. Our party will continue to fight to represent all northerners and their families to ensure a strong and prosperous Northern Ontario for everyone.

The Northern Ontario Party was busy this past weekend with hosting their first AGM at Kettle Lakes Provincial Park near Timmins, Ontario.
