{"id":5701,"date":"2017-08-15T10:45:33","date_gmt":"2017-08-15T14:45:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=5701"},"modified":"2017-08-15T10:54:21","modified_gmt":"2017-08-15T14:54:21","slug":"5701","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2017\/08\/15\/5701\/","title":{"rendered":"Manitouwadge Man killed in Collision"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/OPPCrest-e1501592123859.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-101 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/OPPCrest-300x236.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"236\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Aug 15, 2017 @ 10:45<\/b><\/p>\n<p>On August 14, 2017 at approximately 12:45 p.m. members of the Marathon\/Manitouwadge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision approximately 25km south of Manitouwadge on Highway 614.<\/p>\n<p>A single motor vehicle, a Ford F150 pickup truck travelling north bound, crossed the southbound lane were it struck a rock cut. Emergency services including the Manitouwadge Fire Department (MFD) and Superior North Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the scene to assist the single vehicle occupant.<\/p>\n<p>The driver and single occupant, Julian HAWARISH, an 83 year old male of Manitouwadge, ON was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The highway was closed for approximately 1 hour then open to one lane for approximately 8 hours while OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit (TTCI) conduct their investigation.
