\"\"<\/a>It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Danuta on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the age of 75. Loving spouse of Wladyslaw (Walter) for 53 years.\u00a0\u00a0Devoted mother of Ludmila Monika Moskal (Matthew) and beloved grandmother of Petra. Adoring aunt to Artur Olejniczak (Malgorzata), as well as Grzegorz and Izabela Olejniczak, who preceded her in death. She will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing her.<\/div>\n

The family are forever grateful to Dr. Paul Hacker and his team at Ottawa\u2019s Community Palliative Medicine Associates, as well as Carefor for their dedication, kindness, and compassion for Danuta and us in our time of greatest need.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Danuta was the firstborn of Irena and Lucjan, in north-western Poland. She graduated with dual masters degrees in chemistry and teaching from the Faculty of Chemistry, at the Adam Mickiewicz Memorial University of Poznan, Poland. After a thriving career as a chemistry and physics teacher in Pila, Poland; Danuta joined her daughter and spouse in Ottawa, Canada, after her family was separated by the political regime in Poland in the mid-1980\u2019s. She continued her chemistry career as the Senior Chemist in the gold mining industry in Wawa, northern Ontario, with opportunities to practice and teach her craft as far off as Tanzania, Africa, until her retirement and return to Ottawa. From hiking in the Polish Tatras, to walking the beaches of the Baltic Sea and later Lake Superior, Danuta was an avid naturalist. One of her greatest hobbies was forging for berries and mushrooms in the forests of Poland and subsequently northern Ontario. Her love of the natural world carries on strongly with her daughter and granddaughter.<\/div>\n
