The Municipality of Wawa is very excited to announce a partnership project between Brookfield\u00a0Renewable, Rotary Club of Wawa and Municipality of Wawa for the revitalization of Scenic High\u00a0Falls Park.<\/p>\n

Scenic High Falls Park has long been a jewel of Wawa’s local destinations. It has been enjoyed\u00a0throughout the years by locals and tourists alike as a great picnic spot, for the view of Magpie\u00a0High Falls, and as an access point along the local section of the Voyageur Trail. As a key\u00a0location promoted by the Wawa Tourist Information Center as well as a great place for\u00a0recreation activities, it is very important to many stakeholders that the Park look its best every\u00a0day. To that effect, the project partners are investing in the future of the Park by providing for\u00a0critical upgrades to the washrooms, pavilion, and pathways as well as investing in new\u00a0improvements such as viewing platforms and ramps to increase the accessibility of the location.<\/p>\n

The Municipality would like to thank Brookfield Renewable as well as the Rotary Club of Wawa\u00a0for their partnership in this project. This would not be possible without the generous support of\u00a0Brookfield Renewable, with a donation of $50,000 over the next three years as the project\u00a0completes its objectives. The Rotary Club of Wawa has also contributed not only financially, but\u00a0with volunteer time as well as a vision for the future of the park.<\/p>\n

Jim Deluzio, Vice-President of\u00a0Operations at Brookfield Renewable commented, “As operators of hydroelectric-generating\u00a0stations on the Magpie and Michipicoten rivers, Brookfield Renewable and its employees\u00a0appreciate their beauty every day. Investing in the upgrade of the High Falls Scenic Park is a\u00a0way for us to share this great resource with everyone in an exceptional setting. We are very\u00a0proud to support the Municipality of Wawa and the Rotary Club in this important project.”<\/p>\n
