Position Start Date: September 1, 2022<\/p>\n

Educational Qualifications:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Graduate of the 2 year Early Childhood Education Program from a recognized Community College
\n\u2022 Provide proof of registration with The College of Early Childhood Educators<\/p>\n

Requirements:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Knowledge of early childhood best practices and related current research
\n\u2022 Knowledge of the early acquisition of oral language development and numeracy development
\n\u2022 Knowledge of School Board policies and procedures related to early years programs and to the operation of the school system
\n\u2022 Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
\n\u2022 Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse school community environment
\n\u2022 Proficient in the use of computer technology (e.g. e-mail, internet and word processing)
\n\u2022 First Aid Certificate would be an asset
\n\u2022 Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations will be considered an asset
\n\u2022 Valid G-Class Driver\u2019s License and access to a vehicle in good working condition
\n\u2022 Successful candidates will be required to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check<\/p>\n

Summary of Duties:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Report to the Principal, work in collaboration with the teacher to provide a high quality, play-based, developmentally appropriate program that reflects the Full Day Early Learning Kindergarten Program
\n\u2022 Support the consistent delivery of programs based on current research and best practices
\n\u2022 Assist in the development and implementation of daily activities for children
\n\u2022 Support in providing a welcoming, safe, nurturing, inclusive, positive and respectful environment that recognizes individual differences in children
\n\u2022 Assist in supporting children with opportunities based on individual strengths and needs
\n\u2022 Other similar duties as assigned by the Principal or designated personnel<\/p>\n

Hours of Work \u2013 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. \u2013 or as otherwise determined by the Board to meet operational needs.<\/p>\n
