On Friday 21 July, 2017 one hundred and twenty-six golfers spent the day on the links in support of the 11th Annual William G. Rose Memorial Golf Tournament. Teams were comprised of Men, Ladies, or Mixed with some participants travelling from Ottawa, Sudbury, Espanola, Sault Ste. Marie, and even North Carolina!<\/p>\n
With our host Wawa Area Victim Services the sunny skies greeted the golfers supporting local High School bursaries geared toward Law Enforcement. Any additional funds assist future tournaments as well as Victim Services with local client programs.<\/p>\n
A 2017 Chevrolet Cruze displayed on the course was provided by Mission Motors to a participant shooting a hole in one on #7. Mission Motors has supported the tournament tremendously for 11 years, and we are thankful for the opportunity afforded to the event.<\/p>\n
In addition, each registrant had a chance to win one of 4 Golf and Gaming Packages provided by our friends at Bay Mills Resort & Casino. This trip included a one night stay for 2 at the Resort and 18 holes of golf on their Wild Bluff Championship Golf Course.<\/p>\n
The staff at the Michipicoten Golf Club provided us with fantastic food and exceptional service throughout the day. Michelle, Gail, Maria, Clarissa, Jana, and Jarrett from the clubhouse and Roly Lachapelle and his greens and grounds crew continue to do a fantastic job on Wawa\u2019s little gem of a course in the North. Thank you to all!<\/p>\n
No participant leaves the tournament without a prize but prior to that the presentations began.<\/p>\n
Special Events<\/strong> Winner of the Men\u2019s Division<\/strong> with a score of 29 was Francis Deschamplain, Joey Deschamplain, and Jesse Deschamplain<\/p>\n Winner of the Mixed Division<\/strong> with a score of 32 was Jeff Amos, Donna Korytko, and Maegan Amos<\/p>\n Winner of the Ladies Division<\/strong> with a score of 37 was Toni Rutland, Charlee Simon, and Suzanne Lacasse<\/p>\n Our 50\/50 Draw Winner: Amanda Huff<\/p>\n Also on hand was the chance to win a Toronto Maple Leafs #34 Auston Matthews jersey: James Bussineau<\/p>\n Registration Draws Winners (Bay Mills Resort & Casino Golf and Gaming Package): Wawa and Area Victim Services and the Rose Family once again would like to thank all of our local businesses and participants who continue to support this worthwhile event.
