{"id":54294,"date":"2022-06-09T06:43:16","date_gmt":"2022-06-09T10:43:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=54294"},"modified":"2022-06-09T06:43:16","modified_gmt":"2022-06-09T10:43:16","slug":"ssm-opp-missing-kayaker-located-deceased","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2022\/06\/09\/ssm-opp-missing-kayaker-located-deceased\/","title":{"rendered":"SSM OPP &#8211; Missing Kayaker Located Deceased"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/OPPCrest-e1501592123859.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-101\" src=\"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/OPPCrest-e1501592123859.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"236\" \/><\/a>On Sunday June 5, 2022, shortly after 10:30 p.m., members from the Sault Ste Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the Sault Ste Marie Crime Unit, \u00a0the OPP&#8217;s North East Canine Unit, Emergency Response Team (ERT), Aviation Services- Helicopter, the Underwater Search and Rescue Team (USRT), Forensic Identification Services (FIS), Batchewana First Nation Police Service, Sault Ste Police Service (ariel search with a drone), Sault Ste Marie Search and Rescue (marine) responded to a missing overdue person that went kayaking on Driving Lake north of Garden River First Nation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The deceased, 23-year-old, Kyle BUSWA-VIRTA was located on June 7, 2022, at approximately 3:30 p.m., by the OPP&#8217;s Underwater Search and Rescue Unit.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation is ongoing under the direction of the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-OFPS).<\/p>\n<p>A post-mortem examination is expected to take place in Sault Ste.
