The collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 589 and Kam Current Road in Gorham Township.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of a Dodge truck was west bound on Kam Current Road, the driver failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Highway 589 and collided with the driver of a Yamaha motorcycle.<\/p>\n<p>As officers were speaking with the driver of the Dodge truck, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the motorcycle was transported to hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced deceased.\u00a0The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.<\/p>\n<p>Randall NAULT, 31 years of age, from Thunder Bay was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death contrary to section 255(3),<\/li>\n<li>Fail or Refuse to Provide a Breath Sample contrary to section 254(5).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He is being held in custody for a video court appearance.<\/p>\n<p>OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended the scene and assisted with the investigation. \u00a0The investigation is continuing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday, July 31, 2017 at approximately 10:39pm, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) as well as Superior North Emergency Medical Service (EMS) and Gorham Fire Department responded to a two vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a truck.
