{"id":52882,"date":"2022-03-22T12:54:02","date_gmt":"2022-03-22T16:54:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=52882"},"modified":"2022-03-22T12:54:02","modified_gmt":"2022-03-22T16:54:02","slug":"east-algoma-opp-arson-charges-laid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2022\/03\/22\/east-algoma-opp-arson-charges-laid\/","title":{"rendered":"East Algoma OPP &#8211; Arson Charges Laid"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On March 21, 2022, at approximately 11:55 p.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a disturbance related occurrence at an apartment complex on Dunn Road in Elliot Lake.<\/p>\n<p>The complainant reported having their door kicked and pepper spray deployed in the hallway.\u00a0Police attended and the suspects were not located or identified at that time. \u00a0At approximately 3:00 a.m. police were called back to that location in relation to a fire.\u00a0The complainant recognized one of the suspects involved.\u00a0The Elliot Lake Fire Department attended to extinguish the fire.\u00a0After investigation, police attended an apartment and arrested a person.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew JOLLY, 29 years-old, of Elliot Lake was arrested and charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arson &#8211; Damage to Property, contrary to section 434 of the Criminal Code (CC)<\/li>\n<li>Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on March 22, 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On March 21, 2022, at approximately 11:55 p.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a disturbance related occurrence at an apartment complex on Dunn Road in Elliot Lake.
