Taught by Ms. Carole Bouffard, this course allows students to deepen their knowledge of the themes and stylistic elements of various cultural expression forms, by studying various texts by First Nations, M\u00e9tis and Inuit authors.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In this course, students studied Aboriginal authors from various time periods. Topics included identity, relationships, self-determination, sovereignty and self-government. This year, students discovered a variety of poems and songs by Indigenous artists including Natasha Kanap\u00e9 Fontaine (N\u2019entre pas dans mon \u00e2me avec tes chaussures), Jos\u00e9phine Bacon (B\u00e2tons \u00e0 message\/ Tshissinuatshitakana) and Samian (La plume d &#8216;aigle).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Students were also able to experience great learning activities, including the making of a pair of moccasins and a traditional bracelet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the past few years, \u00c9cole secondaire Saint-Joseph (Wawa) has offered the course \u201cFrench: Discovering the Contemporary Voices of First Nations, M\u00e9tis and Inuit\u201d (Grade 11).
