{"id":51752,"date":"2022-02-03T09:00:59","date_gmt":"2022-02-03T14:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=51752"},"modified":"2022-02-03T09:00:59","modified_gmt":"2022-02-03T14:00:59","slug":"east-algoma-opp-charges-laid-after-search-warrant-executed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2022\/02\/03\/east-algoma-opp-charges-laid-after-search-warrant-executed\/","title":{"rendered":"East Algoma OPP &#8211; Charges Laid after Search Warrant Executed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On February 1, 2022, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed search warrants at a shop on Kilborn Way in Elliot Lake.<\/p>\n<p>After investigation, police obtained numerous Warrants to Search the buildings and vehicles at that location.\u00a0As a result of the warrants being executed, over $2800 in cash, numerous parts from a stolen Off-Road Vehicle, stolen tools and power equipment from a previous break and enter, ammunition or various calibers, 30 fish fillets in brine, almost 3000 suspected Methamphetamine tablets, approximately 50 suspected Oxycodone tablets, digital scales, and an All-Terrain Vehicle was seized.\u00a0The estimated street value of the drugs is over $15,000.<\/p>\n<p>The OPP&#8217;s Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), East Algoma Crime Unit, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Canine Unit, Emergency Response Team (ERT), and uniform members were involved with the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Tim MORAN, 40 years-old, of Elliot Lake was charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 &#8211; in Canada (Six Counts), contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)<\/li>\n<li>Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking &#8211; Methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)<\/li>\n<li>Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking &#8211; Opioid (Other than Heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA<\/li>\n<li>Fail to Comply with Release Order (Two Counts) &#8211; Other Than to Attend Court, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the CC<\/li>\n<li>Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on February 2, 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On February 1, 2022, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed search warrants at a shop on Kilborn Way in Elliot Lake.
