The investigation was regarding the theft of a motor vehicle as well as an assault on a Manitouwadge victim.<\/p>\n<p>Arrested and charged was Matthew M. JOHNSTON age 33 of Marathon ON, JOHNSTON was charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Theft of a Motor Vehicle CC 333.1<\/li>\n<li>Possession Property Obtained b Crime Over $5000 CC 354(1)(a)<\/li>\n<li>Obstruct Peace Officer CC 129(a)<\/li>\n<li>2 counts of Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code CC 320.18(1)(a)<\/li>\n<li>Assault with a Weapon CC267(a)<\/li>\n<li>Mischief Over $5000 CC 430(3)<\/li>\n<li>Disguise with Intent CC 351(2)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>JOHNSTON was held for video bail at the Marathon OPP Detachment and later transferred to the Thunder Bay District Jail and is awaiting further bail hearings.<\/p>\n<p>Also arrested and charged was Christopher CONSTANTINE age 45, of Marathon ON, CONSTANTINE was charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Theft of a Motor Vehicle CC 333.1<\/li>\n<li>Possession Property Obtained b Crime Over $5000 CC 354(1)(a)<\/li>\n<li>Assault with a Weapon CC267(a)<\/li>\n<li>Mischief Over $5000 CC 430(3)<\/li>\n<li>Disguise with Intent CC 351(2)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>CONSTANTINE was held for video bail at the Marathon OPP Detachment and later released on a Release Order with several conditions as well as to return to court in Thunder Bay by audio or video on January 4, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Police thank the public&#8217;s assistance in this investigation and ask that anyone who may have any more information regarding these crimes or any other crimes to please contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).<u> ontariocrimestoppers.ca <\/u><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An investigation by Manitouwadge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in the arrest of two individuals and numerous charges.
