{"id":44047,"date":"2021-04-21T08:17:06","date_gmt":"2021-04-21T12:17:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=44047"},"modified":"2021-04-21T08:17:06","modified_gmt":"2021-04-21T12:17:06","slug":"doug-ford-always-opposed-any-kind-of-paid-sick-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2021\/04\/21\/doug-ford-always-opposed-any-kind-of-paid-sick-time\/","title":{"rendered":"Doug Ford always opposed any kind of paid sick time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Premier Doug Ford was always opposed any program that offers any help to workers to stay home when they are sick.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One of Doug Ford\u2019s first actions as premier was to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/business\/small-business\/talent\/article-ontario-government-rolls-back-liberals-labour-friendly-workplace\/\">take away<\/a> Ontario\u2019s two measly paid sick days.<\/li>\n<li>When a limited federal program was introduced to provide small supports to some workers who do not have paid sick days, Doug Ford opposed even that, saying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kitchenertoday.com\/around-ontario\/federal-funding-offer-not-enough-to-cover-ontarios-covid-19-costs-ford-says-2411312\">\u201cI don\u2019t support it\u201d<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Ford has referred to paid sick days as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogto.com\/city\/2021\/02\/doug-ford-paid-sick-days-waste-taxpayer-money\/\">\u201cwaste of taxpayer money\u201d<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cDoctors, nurses, public health experts, and front line workers have been united in their call for the province to give workers paid sick days. But Mr. Ford doesn\u2019t listen to the experts,\u201d said NDP Leader Andrea Horwath.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are entire families of essential workers in the ICU, struggling to breathe.
