MP Terry Sheehan announced $1.45 million to support clean technology being developed by Heliene Inc. yesterday, June 19th in Sault Ste. Marie. This project is being funded through Sustainable Development Technology Canada, which works with Canadian companies to bring early-stage clean technologies to market.<\/p>\n
These innovations will lead to well-paying, middle-class jobs and new business opportunities for Canadians. They will also lead to cleaner technologies that result in less air pollution and healthier communities.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring the 2015 federal election campaign, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited Heliene Inc. and promised to help diversify the local and Canadian economy by investing in clean technology. Today\u2019s announcement is an example of a promise made and a promise kept,\u201d said Sheehan.<\/p>\n
Investments in clean technology are part of the Government\u2019s Innovation and Skills Plan, a multi-year strategy to create well-paying jobs for the middle class and those working hard to join it.<\/p>\n
