{"id":40013,"date":"2020-12-12T09:32:58","date_gmt":"2020-12-12T14:32:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=40013"},"modified":"2020-12-12T09:32:58","modified_gmt":"2020-12-12T14:32:58","slug":"east-algoma-opp-arrests-made-after-robbery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2020\/12\/12\/east-algoma-opp-arrests-made-after-robbery\/","title":{"rendered":"East Algoma OPP &#8211; Arrests made after Robbery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/OPPCrest-e1501592123859.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-101\" src=\"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/OPPCrest-e1501592123859-300x236.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"236\" \/><\/a>On December 9, 2020, at approximately 5:00 a.m., members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a residence on Ste Camillus Crescent in Elliot Lake in regards to a robbery occurrence.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The complainant had reported that person entered their residence, assaulted them with a handgun, stole money, a cell phone, and suspected cocaine, then departed.\u00a0After police investigation, the accused persons were located in a car at a restaurant on Highway 108.\u00a0Subsequently, all persons in the car were arrested.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Paul (JP) LEONARD, 61 years of age, of Elliot Lake was charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Robbery Using a Firearm (Restricted or Prohibited), contrary to section 344(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),<\/li>\n<li>Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, contrary to section 355(b) of the CC,<\/li>\n<li>Fail to Comply With Probation Order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC,<\/li>\n<li>Possession of a Schedule I Substance &#8211; Cocaine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Richard LIZOTTE, 66 years of age, of Elliot Lake was charged with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Robbery Using a Firearm (Restricted or Prohibited), contrary to section 344(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),<\/li>\n<li>Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, contrary to section 355(b) of the CC,<\/li>\n<li>Possession of a Schedule I Substance &#8211; Methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The accused persons appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Sault Ste.
