Ontario PC candidate Ross Romano has won the Sault Ste. Marie by-election.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cTonight we have won a riding that hasn\u2019t been held by the PCs for over thirty years,\u201d said Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown. “Voters have made it clear that it\u2019s only the Ontario PC Party that will fight to make life more affordable.\u00a0The PCs will be a strong voice for Sault Ste. Marie and the North.”<\/p>\n

This is the first time the Ontario PCs have won Sault Ste. Marie since 1981, and it is Brown\u2019s fifth by-election win since becoming Ontario PC Leader.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
With all polls reported, the Ontario PCs won with 40 per cent, an 18-point lead over the Liberals and a seven-point lead over the NDP.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cFor too long the Sault and\u00a0the North\u00a0have been forgotten,\u201d said Romano. \u201cThe Ontario PC Party and I will not take your\u00a0vote of confidence for granted.\u00a0I have\u00a0fought for the Sault\u00a0as a\u00a0councillor, and I will do the same as\u00a0your\u00a0MPP.\u201d<\/p>\n
