{"id":37924,"date":"2020-10-21T08:09:02","date_gmt":"2020-10-21T12:09:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=37924"},"modified":"2020-10-21T08:09:02","modified_gmt":"2020-10-21T12:09:02","slug":"se-opp-wawa-wawa-man-charged-with-operation-while-impaired","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2020\/10\/21\/se-opp-wawa-wawa-man-charged-with-operation-while-impaired\/","title":{"rendered":"SE OPP Wawa &#8211; Wawa Man Charged with Operation while Impaired"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/OPPCrest-e1501592123859.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-101\" src=\"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/OPPCrest-e1501592123859-300x236.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"236\" \/><\/a>On October 16, 2020, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a member of the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a pickup truck that was swerving into the oncoming lane on Churchill Avenue in Wawa.<\/p>\n<p>Police stopped the vehicle and determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol.\u00a0As a result of the investigation, Michael SKOURIS, 57 years-of-age, from Wawa, was arrested and charged with the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Operation while impaired &#8211; alcohol and drugs, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC), and<\/li>\n<li>Operation while impaired &#8211; blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver&#8217;s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.<\/p>\n<p>The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on November 9, 2020, in Wawa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On October 16, 2020, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a member of the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a pickup truck that was swerving into the oncoming lane on Churchill Avenue in Wawa.
