{"id":37026,"date":"2020-09-24T09:07:25","date_gmt":"2020-09-24T13:07:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=37026"},"modified":"2020-09-24T09:07:25","modified_gmt":"2020-09-24T13:07:25","slug":"se-opp-hornepayne-hornepayne-atv-driver-charged-with-impaired-while-towing-boat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2020\/09\/24\/se-opp-hornepayne-hornepayne-atv-driver-charged-with-impaired-while-towing-boat\/","title":{"rendered":"SE OPP Hornepayne &#8211; Hornepayne ATV Driver Charged with Impaired while towing boat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/OPPCrest-e1501592123859.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-101\" src=\"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/OPPCrest-e1501592123859-300x236.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"236\" \/><\/a>On September 16, 2020, at approximately 6:50 p.m., members of the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint of a person towing a boat with an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) with a second person riding in the boat consuming alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>Police located the ATV and driver on a gravel road just south of Hornepayne.\u00a0A short time later, it was determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the investigation, David MACDONNELL, 58 years-of-age, from Hornepayne, was arrested and charged with the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Operation while impaired &#8211; alcohol and drugs, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),<\/li>\n<li>Operation while impaired &#8211; blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC, and<\/li>\n<li>Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code, contrary to section 320.18(1)(a) of the CC (Two Counts).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver&#8217;s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for 45 days.<\/p>\n<p>The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on December 17, 2020, in Hornepayne.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On September 16, 2020, at approximately 6:50 p.m., members of the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint of a person towing a boat with an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) with a second person riding in the boat consuming alcohol.
