{"id":35503,"date":"2020-08-12T12:26:09","date_gmt":"2020-08-12T16:26:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=35503"},"modified":"2020-08-12T12:26:09","modified_gmt":"2020-08-12T16:26:09","slug":"se-opp-wawa-wawa-man-charged-with-impaired-after-collision-on-harbour-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2020\/08\/12\/se-opp-wawa-wawa-man-charged-with-impaired-after-collision-on-harbour-road\/","title":{"rendered":"SE OPP Wawa &#8211; Wawa Man Charged with Impaired after Collision on Harbour Road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-101 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/OPPCrest-e1501592123859-300x236.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"236\" \/>On August 11, 2020, at approximately 5:10 p.m., members of the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Harbour Road in Wawa.<\/p>\n<p>Upon arrival, officers observed that a pickup truck had left the roadway and gone several feet down an embankment.\u00a0A short time later, it was determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the investigation, Victor LUCAS, 35 years-of-age, from Wawa, was arrested and charged with the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Operation while impaired &#8211; alcohol and drugs, contrary to section 320.12(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC), and<\/li>\n<li>Operation while impaired &#8211; blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver&#8217;s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.<\/p>\n<p>The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 14, 2020, in Wawa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On August 11, 2020, at approximately 5:10 p.m., members of the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Harbour Road in Wawa.
