Businesses and organizations must adopt a policy that requires people to wear a mask or face covering in all enclosed public spaces. A\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.algomapublichealth.com\/media\/3594\/sample-policy-mandatory-face-mask.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sample policy<\/a>\u00a0has been provided.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_default\">APH\u2019s Medical Officer of Health is issuing these instructions\u00a0under the authority\u00a0of the provincial\u00a0Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (EMCPA)\u00a0as part of ongoing efforts to prevent the\u00a0spread of COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the province continues to reopen, and as we continue to maintain corridors of essential travel between Algoma and other regions including southern Ontario and the US, we need to step up preventive measures in our public spaces, to keep workers and customers safe, and help business reopen safely, and stay open,\u201d said Dr. Marlene Spruyt, Medical Officer of Health<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As of\u00a0Friday, July 17, 2020,\u00a0the public will be\u00a0required to wear a face covering (i.e. non-medical mask) when entering the indoor premises of businesses, organizations and on public transit systems throughout the service area of Algoma Public Health (APH).
