The Alamos Gold Recreation Committee has cancelled the First Annual Alamos Family Fishing Day scheduled for today, Saturday, March 14, 2920. Their media release states:<\/p>\n
We are passionately committed to the well-being of our\u00a0company, people, stakeholders, and the places where we mine. It\u00a0is due to the belief in this value, with support from the recreation\u00a0committee. that Island Gold management made the decision to\u00a0cancel the First Annual Alamos Family Fishing Day set to be\u00a0held on Saturday, March 14.<\/p>\n
With no direction on when this\u00a0pandemic may subside, we arc not able 10 postpone this event.<\/p>\n
We do not believe there is a high risk of contracting the\u00a0Coronavirus COVID-19 during this event, however we are\u00a0taking precautions in light of the call from the Ontario\u00a0Provincial government to postpone or cancel any event where\u00a0large number of people may congregate.<\/p>\n
We would like 10 thank the members of the Recreation\u00a0Committee for all their hard work organizing this event. We\u00a0would also like to thank our generous sponsors for their\u00a0donations and contributions 10 this derby. We look forward t0\u00a0future events and apologize for any inconvenience this may have\u00a0caused.<\/p>\n
