{"id":25038,"date":"2019-10-16T10:58:38","date_gmt":"2019-10-16T14:58:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=25038"},"modified":"2020-08-17T09:15:48","modified_gmt":"2020-08-17T13:15:48","slug":"between-the-covers-october-16","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2019\/10\/16\/between-the-covers-october-16\/","title":{"rendered":"Between the Covers &#8211; October 16"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ontario Public Library Week\u00a0is being celebrated from October 20th until October 26th.\u00a0The Wawa Public Library has a lot of activities planned beginning with our Book Sale on Tuesday, October 22nd and continued throughout the week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, October 19th &#8211; AN AFTERNOON OF MUSIC WITH ISABELLA:\u00a0<\/strong>We sure hope you can join us as we celebrate an early kick off to Ontario Public Library Week! \u00a0Isabella will be her to share her beautiful vocal talents with us.\u00a0Isabella is a wonderful, talented entertainer and this will be an afternoon you don\u2019t want to miss.\u00a0 There is no fee but donations are gratefully accepted.\u00a0 Isabella will also have her tasty bread for sale with all proceeds going towards the Wawa Public Library! Please save the date and we hope to see you all there!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, October 22nd &#8211; Food For Fines<\/strong>\u00a0begins and continues throughout the week.\u00a0 If you bring in food items for the food bank, we will give you a coupon that gives you $2.00 off your library fines.\u00a0 This is a great way to support the food bank.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wawa Public Library Book Sale<\/strong> begins and continues throughout the week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coffee and Culture Night<\/strong>\u00a0begins at 5 p.m. (until 7 p.m.) \u00a0Michael Semchison\u00a0will be here to do a book reading from his sister\u2019s Carol Sanders books.\u00a0 Kaireen Morrison\u00a0will be here promoting her \u201cThrough Our Eyes\u201d series. On the artisan side of things, we will have Cindy Chiupka Jozin\u00a0here with her beautiful pottery!\u00a0 Come on out to the Wawa Public Library and support our local artisans.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, October 23rd &#8211; Literacy in Wawa<\/strong> &#8211; We will have Heather Watson\u00a0promoting Usborne Books at Home.\u00a0Heather is a local distributor and is available for parties, book fairs and fundraisers. We will also have Cathy Cannon\u00a0presenting Dolly Parton\u2019s Imagination Library. This is a wonderful program that enrolls children 0-5 years of age to receive books.\u00a0 This program is free and Cathy will be here to tell you how it works.\u00a0 Literacy begins early so come on out on October 22ndand talk to these awesome ladies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, October 24th &#8211; Young Living With Paula<\/strong>:\u00a0Paula will be\u00a0here to do a presentation about her Young Living Essential Oils.\u00a0 Paula is an independent distributor and will share how these amazing essential oils can make a difference in your life. It is going to be a very busy week here at the Wawa Public Library. Hope to see you all there!<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018COFFEE BREAK\u2019 FOR ALZHEIMERS<\/strong> &#8211; Please join us as we help raise money for the Alzheimer Society.\u00a0 If you make donation to the Alzheimer Society here at the library, you will have a chance to win a prize package which includes some awesome books, coffee and treats!!\u00a0 Draw will be made on Friday, October 25th, 2019 at 1:00pm.Come on in today to the Wawa Public Library and help support the Alzheimer Society.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NEW BOOKS ON THE 7 DAY SHELF<\/strong>\u00a0this week are; \u201cA Better Man\u201d by Louise Penny, \u201cContraband\u201d by Stuart Woods and \u201cBeneath the Tamarind Tree\u201d by Isha Sesay.
