On Monday, August 6, 2019 at 12:44 a.m. members of the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the Algoma Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Wawa Fire Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 approximately 30 kilometres south of Wawa, Ontario.<\/p>\n

The investigation has revealed that a southbound single motor vehicle left the roadway striking a rock-cut7777.\u00a0Four occupants of the motor vehicle were uninjured however, Choudhry Nouman Ahmed TARIQ, 41-year-old male from Brampton, Ontario was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n
