{"id":23106,"date":"2019-07-31T08:46:49","date_gmt":"2019-07-31T12:46:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=23106"},"modified":"2026-01-03T12:41:39","modified_gmt":"2026-01-03T17:41:39","slug":"northeast-forest-fire-update-july-31","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2019\/07\/31\/northeast-forest-fire-update-july-31\/","title":{"rendered":"Northeast Forest Fire Update &#8211; July 31"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There were no new wildland fires discovered at the time of this report.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of this update, there are six active wildland fires in the region.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Pembroke 2 is under control at 0.7 of a hectare and is located west of Sand Lake.<\/li>\n<li>Peterborough 1 is being held at 10 hectares and is located west of Hwy 15.<\/li>\n<li>Sudbury 18 is under control at 3.5 hectares. This fire is located west of Sinaminda Lake.<\/li>\n<li>Sudbury 20 is under control at 1.4 hectares and is located further west of Sinaminda Lake.<\/li>\n<li>Kirkland Lake 6 is under control at 6 hectares and is located north of Sesekinika lake.<\/li>\n<li>Cochrane 10 measures 74 hectares and is being observed, approximately 100km southeast of Moose Factory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The forest fire hazard ranges from low to moderate across the Northeast Region, with the exception of Espanola and surrounding areas which are showing a high hazard.<\/p>\n<p>For up to date forest fire hazard conditions in your area, see the interactive fire map at <a href=\"applewebdata:\/\/0D669C09-D78C-4A41-8F34-8DEB2C183AC1\/Ontario.ca\/forestfires\">Ontario.ca\/forestfires<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Help fight forest fires &#8211; stay clear of waterbombers<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When waterbombers approach a body of water, move close to the shore so they can perform their scoop.
