Michipicoten Volunteer Fire Department preparing to remove the roof in order to extricate the injured occupant.<\/p><\/div>\n

Shortly before 4:00 p.m. this afternoon (March 17) the Michipicoten Volunteer Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident between a float truck and a car, by the Sand River south of Wawa on Highway 17. A unidentified male victim was trapped in his vehicle and required extrication.<\/p>\n

The Superior East Detachment of the OPP had one lane closed during that time. The patient has suffered grave injuries and as this was posted (6:25 p.m.) he was to be flown out by air ambulance. This press release will be updated as further details are known.<\/p>\n
