{"id":1490,"date":"2017-03-09T06:19:09","date_gmt":"2017-03-09T11:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=1490"},"modified":"2017-03-09T06:21:38","modified_gmt":"2017-03-09T11:21:38","slug":"moving-ahead-with-the-north-east-lhins-strategy-to-improve-housing-for-vulnerable-populations-across-the-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2017\/03\/09\/moving-ahead-with-the-north-east-lhins-strategy-to-improve-housing-for-vulnerable-populations-across-the-region\/","title":{"rendered":"Moving Ahead with the North East LHIN\u2019s Strategy to Improve Housing for Vulnerable Populations across the Region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Mar 9, 2017 @ 06:19<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The North East Local Health Integration Network (NE LHIN) met with the senior leadership of the region\u2019s District Social Services Boards (DSSABs), as well as Service Managers of municipalities on Friday to move ahead with the recommendations found in its\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nelhin.on.ca\/Page.aspx?id=0E4BEB28469D482D8D7E78BCFE7B2C23\"><strong><em>Innovative Housing with Health Supports in Northeastern Ontario Strategic Plan: 2016-2019.<\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The partners identified leaders who will be responsible for moving the strategy\u2019s 43 recommendations forward.\u00a0 These recommendations are aimed at strengthening collaboration and ensuring there are health supports for vulnerable populations such as seniors and people with mental health and addiction challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Partners will also consider the province\u2019s recent announcement of up to 1,150 additional supportive housing units across Ontario for people living with mental illness and addictions, especially those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
