{"id":12389,"date":"2018-05-08T08:10:00","date_gmt":"2018-05-08T12:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=12389"},"modified":"2018-05-08T08:15:53","modified_gmt":"2018-05-08T12:15:53","slug":"two-spencerville-men-fined-for-killing-a-moose-near-foleyet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2018\/05\/08\/two-spencerville-men-fined-for-killing-a-moose-near-foleyet\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Spencerville Men fined for Killing a Moose near Foleyet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>May 8, 2018 @ 08:10<\/b><\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div><div class=\"divider\"><\/div>\n<p>Two Spencerville men have been fined a total of $2,000 for hunting offences under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act.<\/p>\n<p>Steven Hopkins pleaded guilty and was fined $1,500 for unlawfully discharging a firearm on a travelled roadway.<\/p>\n<p>Barrie Crawford pleaded guilty and was fined $500 for unlawfully possessing an illegally killed bull moose.<\/p>\n<p>Court heard that on Oct. 16, 2017, Hopkins and Crawford were hunting on the Warren Carty Road near Foleyet when they observed a bull moose walking on the road.<\/p>\n<p>Hopkins exited the vehicle and, while standing on the roadway in front of the vehicle, fired twice down the roadway at the moose in the direction of a blind corner.
