{"id":11265,"date":"2018-03-19T10:11:50","date_gmt":"2018-03-19T14:11:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/?p=11265"},"modified":"2018-03-19T10:13:12","modified_gmt":"2018-03-19T14:13:12","slug":"horwaths-dental-care-plan-to-cover-everyone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/index.php\/2018\/03\/19\/horwaths-dental-care-plan-to-cover-everyone\/","title":{"rendered":"Horwath\u2019s dental care plan to cover everyone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Mar 19, 2018 @ 10:11<\/b><\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div><div class=\"divider\"><\/div>\n<p>NDP Leader Andrea Horwath says that under her dental care plan, everyone will have dental coverage \u2013 with working people and their families covered through their job, and all other Ontarians covered through public dental coverage.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Ontario, one in three working people don\u2019t have a workplace benefits plan \u2013 including those working in the gig economy,\u201d said Horwath. \u201cAnd seniors and those on social assistance are left without coverage, too.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat means millions of people are not covered for basic dental care. It means they have to live in pain, deal with the lifelong damage of going without dental care, or rack up credit card bills to see a dentist. It\u2019s time to help people be healthier, and make life more affordable in Ontario.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Horwath\u2019s innovative structure will cover about 4.5 million people that don\u2019t have dental benefits now. The program will be fully implemented by the end of her first term as premier.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The plan will publicly fund dental coverage for millions of people, including those on social assistance and seniors who don\u2019t have retirement benefits.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For all employed people \u2013 including part-time workers, contractors, freelancers and people working in non-traditional settings \u2013 Ontario Benefits will create a minimum standard for dental plans that will apply to all employers.
